Somatics Approaches and Everything Else

At Haus of Lotus Somatics, we honor our ancestors and our roots as we forge a path of healing and empowerment. Providing a sanctuary for survivors and seekers of self-discovery, helping them rise from the mud to bloom into their most radiant selves.

I understand the feeling of being trapped in a trauma cycle—stuck, lost, anxious, depressed, and even resorting to self-harm, which manifested for me as an eating disorder. I began therapy at the age of 19 and have never looked back. Through deep exploration, I discovered healthier ways of living and thriving. I no longer hurt myself and began to feel comfortable in my body, allowing myself to be present. By uncovering the traumas I had experienced, I learned that even though I did not choose the abuse, I have the power to change how my story is reflected in my body and life. I truly practice what I preach. My approach is focused on empowering individuals to overcome challenges and embrace their authentic selves.

I Julie Catoe creator and solo provider at Haus of Lotus Somatics want to invite you to this Haus Haven. I have a diverse background that uniquely positions me to offer comprehensive support for mental health and well-being.

With personal experiences mirroring those of many clients, after years in therapy, I pursued a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and a Master's Degree in Counseling, with an emphasis in Mental Health from Chaminade University of Honolulu. This journey led to a fulfilling career as a mental health therapist. Recognizing the crucial connection between mind and body, I have further expanded my expertise with certifications and training in various fields. Offering services online allows me to connect with people in any location. I believe in humanizing the support and care I provide for people. I am excited to not limit myself so I can provide services with integrity that actually help folks. I provide somatic practices and variations of interventions that I have acquired over the years. Somatic practices help us work with our nervous system. Our bodies already have built in boundaries through the nervous system, learning how to work with the body and not against it is a powerful tool I love to share. Below are trainings and certificates I work with.

  • Experienced Yoga Teacher (EYT)

  • Trauma Center Trauma Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY)

  • Yoga for Eating Disorders

  • Yoga Psychology

  • Somatic Sex Educator

  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)

  • Meditation Guide

  • Certified Facilitator for Women's Gatherings

  • Various Somatic Trainings for Nervous System Regulation

  • Somatic Coach

Not only am I trauma informed I believe in the power of blending somatic practices with Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to offer a less invasive and highly effective way to help individuals facing life's deepest challenges. Inspired by the essence of "no mud, no lotus," I create a supportive environment for those dealing with Trauma(s), PTSD, PTSE, Complex Trauma, and other life-altering issues. I also use work from my Somatic sex education training to learn about consent, proper sex education (we all deserve) and learning about pleasure. â€‹
